Through My Birthday Fundraiser, we've raised over $10,000 for great causes since 2012. This year, funds raised will benefit Diversability, a social movement to rebrand disability through the power of community and get more people thinking and talking about disability as a core part of the diversity conversation. Some of you supported my campaign last year and it has been an amazing year. It all started with a sold out launch event last April. We won an award from the National Rehabilitation Association for our programming and were featured in the Guardian and Disability.gov. On the ground, we've grown to LA, Montgomery, Ala., SF, and DC. Online, we've grown to almost 6,000 across social platforms with a reach of over 600K monthly. We are also thrilled to be a part of the Positive Exposure Pop-Up Center photo exhibit (sidebar: if you are in NYC April 6-11, check it out -- it's free and open to the public). I started Diversability based on my own personal experiences after a car accident when I was younger left me with a severe nerve injury in my arm. My purpose is to foster community that empowers people of all abilities to dream bigger. Thank you for supporting Diversability and My Birthday Fundraiser! Diversability is fiscally sponsored by AXS Lab (501c3) for this campaign.

Every year, I use my birthday month to raise funds for great causes ($14k+ since 2012). This year's fundraiser will benefit Suffering The Silence, an organization led by Allie Cashel and Erica Lupinacci that raises awareness around the experiences of people living with chronic illnesses. I first heard about STS after Allie and Erica were featured in Refinery29 in 2015, and I've been excited to join them on their journey through Diversability, whether it was interviewing them for our blog, working with them on Positive Exposure's pop-up exhibit, or featuring them in our Ask Me Anything event. Thank you for your support! Two other updates: Diversability has partnered with Yamakimoto on these limited edition #NeverthelessShePersisted cards This month we launched Awesome Foundation Disability, awarding $1000 microgrants to awesome projects. ONE MORE: If you are in SF on 4/26, we are partnering with STS for Unplugged (tickets are tax deductible)

Every year, I use my birthday month to raise funds for great causes ($17k+ since 2012). This year, I'm turning 30 and raising funds for Positive Exposure, a non-profit founded by award-winning photographer Rick Guidotti to celebrate the beauty of human diversity. I have been honored to serve as a member of the Advisory Board since last August. Members of Diversability were part of Positive Exposure's pop-up photo exhibit in New York City (2016) and the digital exhibit ‘Beyond the Perception’ in Ghent, Belgium (2018). For those of you in San Francisco, I will be hosting birthday drinks on Wednesday, April 25 from 6:30-8:30pm at the female-owned Wine Down SF (Folsom & 3rd Street). $1/glass and $5/carafe will go to Positive Exposure. RSVP on Facebook. In other news: The Awesome Foundation Disability Chapter just turned one, having funded 13 projects in the United States, Canada, Ecuador, Tanzania, and Uganda. Last month, we launched the first and largest #Trailhead4All workshop for the disability community to close the disability employment gap through careers in technology.
